The Heartbeat of Excellence
For our youngest students, we have already started opening new preschools across D11 to meet our community's demand. We are passionate about early childhood development and education. Our commitment to providing the highest quality preschool program can be seen in everything we do and every decision we make. Providing the highest credentialed teachers, premier environments, and small class sizes, we encourage young families to enroll in our D11 preschools so their children may join the D11 school communities and become familiar with the school they will be a part of for many years.
This spring, we will also focus on the kindergarten round-up in D11. This is when young families with rising kindergartners may come to their neighborhood school and enroll, tour the school, and get a feel for what kindergarten is all about. Because of our dedication to early childhood education, our kindergarten classes are filled with master teachers, the best materials and curriculum in place for long-term academic success, and loving environments where the whole child is cared for and loved.
For our middle school students, please visit any of the high school open houses listed below in this newsletter. Visiting our schools gives you a better feel for where your student will thrive! We also have new toolkits that introduce our Career and Technical Education Pathways. If you have a student in grades 4,5,7, or 8, watch for these monthly toolkits in your email for how you can take steps to prepare your student with career skills and workforce education.
We are excited to welcome all new families to D11 and will continue to grow our programs to meet the needs and demands of future generations.

Inclement Weather Update
As we learn how to make remote learning better and more effective, for the remainder of the 2022-2023 school year, if the weather is severe enough to close the District, the announcement will be made that students will have a traditional snow day.
Please check two or three communications sources (www.d11.org, social media, local news channels, text messages) when a storm is predicted to learn if we will close the District. District 11 uses a mass communication system to notify the community of closures. In addition to receiving notifications via email, text message (if you opted in for texting), and mobile app notifications, an alert window will pop up on any page on the District 11 website you visit. This will ensure you receive the notification promptly. The notification box can be acknowledged and closed.
