May It Be of Benefit

Hello Families,

This week was Teacher Appreciation Week (according to Google), but our EESD board adopted Wednesday, May 12th as the official "Day of the Teacher". The Shasta Meadows PTO is back in action and has planned to treat our staff to lunch on the 12th. They are able to do so because of your help with fundraisers in the past, so thank you to ALL families who support our teachers and our school.

Also, the teachers have planned our annual Parent/Volunteer for Monday, May 10th. Though we have not had parents on campus this year, we have absolutely had so much support from you (donations, kindness, help with teaching your children when they are on DL, etc.). We will do things a bit differently this year (thank you, Covid, for all the opportunities to practice flexibility). If you can, please drive through our bus/cafe parking lot and let a teacher hand you a cup of coffee and/or a breakfast sandwich as a token of our gratitude Monday from 7:15 am to 8:00 am.

Finally, next week is our last official week of state testing in grades 3-5. We finish with 2 days of Math Performance Tasks and then we will take the time to allow students to make up missed testing days. Thank you for helping your child get plenty of sleep each night and a good breakfast as we finish out testing (both are important at all times, of course, but I realize that real-life includes some rushed evenings and mornings at times).

With gratitude,

Mrs. Gold
