All School Meeting - Community Building!

We had our first All School Meeting last week! The theme of our meeting was community. Students learned that they are part of many different communities. We discussed that at school students are part of their classroom, grade level, and school community! We compared our community to a puzzle, and explained that each student is an important piece of our puzzle and when we come together we build something great - Hastings! Each classroom also received a puzzle piece to design and when complete we will build our school puzzle. At the end, students participated in a community walk to feel their place in the bigger Hastings community. They waved and smiled to their peers as we made a big circle showing the power of our school. Check out pictures below!

2nd Annual Hot Topics Event

There's an upcoming Elementary & Middle School Hot Topics event on October 17th from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Mill Pond School. This evening of workshops is designed for parents and caregivers of children in grades K-8 and is being co-hosted by Westborough Connects, Westborough Public Schools, and Westborough Youth and Family Services.

This is the second Hot Topics event being held by these groups. Over 140 people registered for our first event and attendee feedback was very positive. We are happy to offer this event once again. Based on input and feedback from parents in the community, we are offering 8 different workshops during the evening. Workshop topics include social-emotional learning, dyslexia, stress management, nutrition, having difficult conversations, handling conflict, mindfulness, and youth behavior risk.

Each workshop will be 40 minutes and attendees will be able to attend 2 workshops of their choice. To learn more and register for the upcoming program, please click HERE.
