Sacramental Programme Update: Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation

Because of the uncertainties regarding Covid at this stage the Parish Sacramental programme will now, not begin in March.

All things being equal – children, the sacramental team and the parent volunteers being available and not in isolation!.... the programme will begin in the first week of April.

There will be three options for the children that will be sent out in the Sacramental Programme flyer and enrolment form in two weeks:

Option 1: the programme will be offered after school, probably on a Tuesday;

Option 2: the programme will be offered on a Sunday afternoon at 3pm and

Option 3: the programme will be offered for two block days 10-4pm in the April school holidays.

We are still working on venues and practicalities relating to the nuts and bolts of the programme and the well-being of all concerned. This is an ever changing time and it is hard to plan. And all will be well! So please be patient, be kind and watch out for information in the parish newsletter which is the best channel for communication.

Kia tau ngā manaakitanga o te Ariki ki runga i ā koe.

Fiona D'Souza

Netball Co-ordinator (Desperate)

Please consider how you could help ensure that we have a parent or parents helping with this.

It could be shared amongst a group of parents but we must have parent volunteers to make netball happen at St Brigid’s in 2022. We do have a teacher at school who is able to support parents.

If you want to chat with Liz Kemp (previous co-ordinator) about what is involved and how this role could be shared then please contact Lynne at who will pass on her details.

Thank You for Our Netball Hoops

A huge thanks to Bryce Hanley for working on our netball hoops and then delivering them to school. They have only been up a day and already they have been used extensively. We really appreciate parents who offer their time and talent!

Would anyone like some wood?

We have about 20 lengths of wood here at school, suitable for firewood. It could be cut up onsite with a chainsaw and taken away. If you are interested please contact Lynne in the school office to arrange a time to come and take it.

Big picture

After School Care Assistants Required - St Benedict's School

We are looking for two enthusiastic and caring assistants to help supervise our children during indoor and outdoor activities at After School Care.
Position 1: 2:30-5:30pm Monday to Friday term time only.
Position 2: 2:30-4:30pm Monday to Friday term time only.
The successful candidates will enjoy working with children, and as part of a collaborative, happy and supportive team.
We have a Supervisor and Deputy Supervisor in place to work with, and a reliable team that are great fun to work with. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and making a real difference.
