GRAND COTEAU ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Academy of the Sacred Heart and Grand Coteau Elementary teamed up to establish a community building partnership using reading to strengthen foundational academic skills. Academy of Sacred Heart students in grades 8th-10th read to students and asked questions about what they were learning and why they enjoyed learning it.

HIGHLAND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Highland celebrated March and April birthdays with birthday books today! Students get to pick a book for their birthday thanks to a DonorsChoose.Org project that helped fund Scholastic Birthday Book coupons for every child in the school. The students are always so excited to pick their books out and to receive them! We are building leaders and readers at HES!
Congratulations to Highland's first AR student of the week. This week's student of the week is Janna S.! She was selected for a variety of reasons. She read a total of 117, 042 words this 9 weeks and she earned 18 AR points! Way to go, Janna! A big thank you to Sonic for partnering with us to sponsor Highland's students!

Opelousas High School's Science Olympiad Team earned fourth place at the Louisiana Region II competition held at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday, March 9 and qualified for the state competition to be held at Southeastern Louisiana University on April 13.

In this EDUcational Escape, the students have been dropped in a very difficult and

important Fortnight level! They will receive bragging rights if they win this round. They have

to figure out the four locations from Fortnight in order to be the sole survivor!

Sunset Middle School is kicking off National BETA week with our annual service project, "Change for Miles," to raise money for Miles Perret Cancer Services.
