Silver Creek Chronicle

Week of October 11th, 2021

From Mrs. Flemming

I hope you are all enjoying a little extra time off this weekend with your families. Please remember that students will not have school on Monday or Tuesday.

Success Rally:

  • All students will participate in their first 9 weeks success rally during specials in the gym. We will have a group recognition and mini certificates awarded for A Honor Roll, A/B Honor Roll, No Tardies, and Character and then play short games to win points for their house.
  • We would love for parents to attend, but please know that we will not have seating in the gym and ask that parents remain against the wall to allow plenty of room for our campers to compete for their house!
  • Please remember that whenever you are on campus you will need to check in and out through the front office with your photo ID. You will be given a sticker to wear while on campus and return when you leave. Thank you for helping us to keep SC safe!
  • Specials Times:
  • Kindergarten: 12:20-1:15
  • 1st Grade: 1:20-2:15
  • 2nd Grade: 9:55-10:50
  • 3rd Grade: 8:55-9:50
  • 4th Grade: 10:55-11:50

Fundraising Celebration!

  • At various times throughout the day our campers will be celebrated for their fundraising efforts. Each student will have 30 minutes in the arcade and 30 minutes in the glow/pizza party room.

Thursday & Friday:

  • 1st and 2nd grade students will be taking Curriculum assessemtns to guage their learning after the firt 9 weeks.
  • 3rd and 4th Grade students will be taking STAAR Interim Assessments to measure their readiness thus far and give us information on our teaching startegies for the rest of the year.
  • Please try to have your students to school on time and by 7:30 if they are wanting to have plenty of time to eat.

As always, let me know if you have any questions. It's going to be a short but busy week!

Counselor's Corner

We will recognize student successes from the first 9 weeks on October 13th during specials, and our next event will be on November 12th. For the event, students can pay 50 tickets to attend our Mini Fall Festival. Both of these days will be House Spirit Dress-up days. Our character trait for October will be Responsibility, which is the first letter “R” in our TRRFCC tickets. We are also learning how to be Hornets with Hearts, so ask your student about that at home. I’m so proud of our Silver Creek CHAMPS!
