COVID-19 testing recommended

The Minnesota Department of Health is now recommending all school-age youth returning to school, youth sports, or extracurricular activities, and their families, to get tested every two weeks through the end of the school year. While it is not a requirement, regular testing complements other safety measures already in place, such as masking and social distancing. Getting tested every two weeks from now until the end of the school year can help keep schools open and sports operating, and it can help ensure we are limiting the spread of COVID-19.

To get tested, visit a community testing site, order an at-home test kit, or get tested through your healthcare provider.

CDC discourages travel

Mounds View Public Schools is not requiring quarantine following travel. However, families considering travel during this school year are encouraged to keep a close eye on guidance from the Center for Disease Control. Given the high level of COVID-19 spread in our communities, any unnecessary travel is highly discouraged. The CDC recommends the following: Think about what you would do if you became ill, need to quarantine, etc. while traveling. People who travel out of state are strongly encouraged to quarantine when they return home. As of January 26, anyone traveling internationally needs to be tested three days prior to returning to the U.S. and have proof of negative results before boarding a flight.

Partnering for Education event

For the past 10 years, the Mounds View Schools Education Foundation has brought together District staff, parents, alumni, community and business leaders for a community event celebrating the unique partnership between the Foundation and the District - the Partnering for Education Event. This year we will gather virtually.

Beginning Monday, March 1, you can click here to access short daily videos. Mounds View staff, and a featured student speaker, will offer their unique perspectives on what has been an unusual school year - to say the least. Also, be sure to check in every day, as you will also have the opportunity to register to win a $25 gift card for lunch at a local restaurant.
