Outing Club trip to Hidden Valley Nature Center
A safety information card and permission slip will be available outside Ms. Hubert's office and must be filled out and signed by parents/Guardians and returned by Wednesday, Jan 10 to Ms. Graham, Ms. Carlson or Ms. Hubert.
The trip will depart at 2:30 pm and return to school at 4:30 pm for pick up.
Outing Club Advisors will transport students in our new 15 passenger minibus(es)!
Students will need to bring, hats, gloves, winter coats and wear boots. If any student needs some winter clothing, these things are available in the Wolverine Wardrobe. Students will also need to bring a water bottle and the school will provide a snack. A cash donation, no more than $5.00, will be gratefully accepted but not required. Monetary donations satisfy a requirement of the grant that funds our Outing Club Trips.
Highlights of the hike will include Dyer Pond and Kettle Hole Bog... complete with carnivorous native plants!
If you have any questions, please reach out to Ms. Carlson at mcarlson@wiscassetschools.org
NEW! After School Program at WMHS
Wiscasset Middle High School is pleased to offer a structured and organized After School Program for our students on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. This program is possible through the Lincoln Health Community Health Improvement Fund.
We saw a need to improve the students' after school experience on Wednesday ERDs from 1:00 to 3:00 at WCC, and in addressing that need, we are expanding after school opportunities to Tuesdays, Wednesday, and Thursdays. This is a true partnership between WMHS and WCC! Thank you, Duane and Kristy!
Students will have opportunities to participate in a variety of activities such as trail walks, open gym time, field sports, homework space, art, playing cards, and field trips. The After School Program, located at the WCC and at WMHS, will be a space for students to have fun with their peers in an organized after school setting while getting the opportunity to explore the local area.
The first day of the After School Program will be this Wednesday, January 10!
From 1:00 to 3:00, students will have the option to go to the Wiscasset Public Library for Minecraft (bussing provided for up to14 students), or be at the Wiscasset Community Center to make art/ friendship bracelets or play basketball/ soccer.
While there has not been a formal sign-up for students to go to WCC on Wednesday afternoons, we are now putting a sign-up/registration process in place.
Families, please sign up/register your child using WMHS's Arbiter Registration. This registration process will allow us to organize after school programming that is structured, maintains a safe learning environment, and provide communication to families and students throughout the school year.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Elly Thomas, WMHS After School Program Coordinator at ethomas@wiscassetschools.org, or Sarah Hubert, WMHS Assistant Principal/Athletic Director at shubert@wiscassetschools.org
Attention Parents/Guardians of Seniors - Yearbook
Items needed for their senior year Yearbook
Your Senior needs to provide a Senior picture, a baby or younger picture, and turn in a Senior Bio form. The Senior Bio Form was shared with each member of the Senior Class via Google Forms earlier this school year. Please check with your son/daughter to see if they have received the Bio Form.
Digital senior and baby pictures must be in jpeg format and emailed to: dpooler@wiscassetschools.org (You may take a picture of a picture and send it digitally.)
All pictures and bio forms will need to be received by April 1, 2024 to be included in the High School yearbook. There will be a separate yearbook for the Middle School.
The price of this year’s high school yearbook is $45. A “Pre-Sale” price of $40 will be offered 2/3/24
thru 3/3/24. Order forms will be available in the front office or in the Mac Lab (Room 105).
As a parent/guardian of a senior, you can recognize your Senior in the yearbook with a Student Recognition Ad. Write a personal message and it will appear in a special section of the yearbook at no cost. Messages are limited to 250 words or less and are to be emailed to dpooler@wiscassetschools.org by April 1, 2024.
If you have any questions, please email Deb Pooler at dpooler@wiscassetschools.org
