AP Calculus Breakout (Mrs. Banack and Mrs. Tietjen)
Modeled after “escape rooms,” BreakoutEDUs are an opportunity for students to exercise the core values of collaboration, perseverance, and active learning. Students work together to solve curriculum-related clues that unlock the locks to reveal a prize inside the box. To succeed, you must demonstrate not only content knowledge, but also teamwork and creative thinking. Mrs. Banack’s AP Calculus class “broke out” with about four minutes to spare after solving problems about optimization, related rates, maximums/minimums, and concavity.
