Alumni Spotlight: Jamani B. Johnson

Jamani B. Johnson, or JB to most, graduated in 2012. He graduated with a degree in Supply Chain Management and is currently working in the Financial Industry. He has held multiple position in the chapter during his undergrad. He has recently been appointed at the Alumni Advisor of Community Service and Philanthropy, he also helps out with new member education.

Chase Wilson recently caught up with the Alumni for just a brief interview:

Jb so since you have been recently appointed to the alumni advisory team, what plans do you have for the chapter?

Since being appointed to the position I have taken on the responsibility of trying to get the chapter working becoming more proactive, for instance if their is a dance competition or the famous songfest, start seeing the importance on not procrastinating and performing to best of your ability. When dealing with the new members its a work in progress. Every pledge class is different they are a bunch of guys with a wide range of personality, and this pledge class is no different. Sometimes its hard work but when I see them get initiated and become a leader in the chapter I know that it was all worth it.

What is your favorite memory of being a Delt?

My favorite Delt memory will always be the "front porch nights". Zeta Chi is known for always having people just hanging out on the porch at any point in time. Im pretty sure we have solved every world problem, debated politics, the most awesome heart to hearts. Thinking back to some of the conversations it actually makes me laugh because I know that the "front porch" is the only place something like that could happen.

New Member Spotlight: Hunter Martin

Hunter Martin is a Management major from Foley, AL. Hunter is the second child of Tammy and David Martin. He enjoys deep sea fishing, deer hunting, and spending time with his friends. He decided to come to Southern Miss for the atmosphere, and has always been a Southern Miss fan. He has aspirations of one day serving on the executive council and continuing to help Delt grow. He is pictured with his girlfriend, Amanda Brett.

Why did you rush Delt?

"I felt like I was born into Delt. Jordan Russell is from my hometown, and he would always tell me of how much he loved it, so I met all the guys involved, all of which who were interested in me and what I had to say. After a few rush trips, I knew I had found my home. After meeting the rest of my pledge class, I knew Delt was home for me." -Hunter A. Martin
