This is her 3rd year teaching and first at Burnet High School. Previously, she taught 7th grade science at Marble Falls Middle School and IPC at Copperas Cove High School. She graduated last year with her Masters in Biology from the University of Nebraska Kearney. Here at Burnet High School she teaches Environmental Systems and Biology, while also coaching UIL Science and the new Burnet Esports team.

Once a year she sells her artwork at AnimeFest in Dallas, TX where some of the proceeds support the World Fandom organization, an all volunteer organization which provides family-friendly and inclusive conventions.
Staff Spotlight - Brent Kelley
Brent Kelley has been a staff member of Burnet High School for 17 years. He began his career in his hometown of Odessa, Texas. His love for athletics and
his desire to serve young people has led him to Kemp, Navasota, Marble Falls, Forney, and eventually back to the Hill Country where he has coached and taught the longest. He has been in education for 26 years.
Brent is a proud graduate of Permian High School (Go Mojo!) and was an athlete in college playing football at Taft Junior College and the University of New Mexico. He started coaching football and track with boys athletics, but he eventually found his calling on the girls side being an assistant in volleyball and softball. Brent has served students in the classroom in a variety of subjects from health, teen leadership, Algebra, and Special Education, but his favorite role is being an AVID teacher.
When Brent is not at school, he spends his time with his family and close friends. He enjoys golf and has a great love for all things outdoors, especially hunting, camping and fishing. He is a devoted member and volunteer of the First Baptist Church. Brent is also a current member of both the Lake Victor and Valley Lodge dedicating his time to both communities as a Mason.
Brent shares his life with his Boxer named Chip and truly considers both the students and staff at BHS his family. He lives to represent the true meaning of Spirit, Pride, and Honor.
Staff Spotlight - Laura Krienke
Laura was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas. She moved "north" during her senior year of high school. She then moved to Austin in 1985 and started working for HEB Pharmacy and attended ACC. Lots and lots of life happened. She continued to work full time for HEB Pharmacy and eventually graduated from Texas State University in 2009. She began her teaching career at Hutto ISD in 2010-2011 while still working for HEB Pharmacy. The following year she began teaching at Taylor High School, and still worked for the pharmacy for another 2 years. She remained teaching there until they sold the farm in Round Rock and moved to a ranch in Bertram. She began teaching here at Burnet in 2017. She has taught Reading, Practical Writing, English I and ESOL (her absolute favorite) classes here at Burnet. Her passion is working with English Learners and she truly enjoys this part of her job. She has been married to her (2nd) husband, Keith, for 26 years. She has 2 beautiful daughters, Ashley (32) who's an RN for McClain Children's Hospital and Melanie (27) who has a degree in sustainable agriculture and is working on a farm in Hawaii with plans to have her own farm in the next year. She has a grand-pig named Biscuit, 2 horses, a pot belly pig (Thelma Lou), 20+ longhorn cattle, 8 weiner dogs, 1 catahoula, 1 llama, 7 chickens and a rooster! Her favorite things to do are spending time at the beach, reading, growing plants and flowers, reading and spending time with family.
Staff Spotlight - Diane Woods
Diane Woods, BHS Intervention Teacher, is originally from Houston where she graduated from North Shore Senior High School. She started her working career in the court reporting industry and also worked in human resources at University of Texas Medical Branch - Galveston.
Jem, her husband of almost 28 years, encouraged her to return to college and finish her degree in the field she loved…history! So, she returned to University of Houston and got her undergrad degree in History in 2002. She spent three years in her home district teaching at Galena Park High School before she and her family moved to Burnet in 2005 and she began teaching at Marble Falls High School. FINALLY, in 2017, she got the opportunity to work at Burnet High School.
Diane and Jem have two beautiful daughters. Shelbi lives in Stephenville and works in bookkeeping, service center, and front end for HEB in Granbury. Lyndsi married Ellett Vann last summer. Both are graduates of BHS and also live in Stephenville. Lyndsi just graduated from Tarleton State University last December, and Ellett will complete his Masters from Tarleton in May. They have begun the search for their new home where they can work in their chosen fields.
Diane’s favorite activities always include family and friends. She and Jem love to take their RV to the coast and spend time on the beach. They also love road trips with no particular destination in mind…just end up where the road goes. At home, she loves to read, listen to true crime podcasts, and work on jigsaw puzzles.
