A message from the principal, Mrs. Vaughan
Thank you so much for supporting our recent PTA fundraiser! This years fundraiser was our most successful ever and we were able to raise over $25,000 for our school! As part of the fundraiser all students will participate in our Day of Awesomeness. This is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, October 25th. Your child will participate during their assigned specials time. This is part of their instructional day and not open to visitors. Students will have the opportunity to go through multiple inflatable obstacle courses, there will be DJ, Chill Zone with gaming systems, prize tent, and a treat. If you do not wish for your child to participate in this event, please reach out to your child's homeroom teacher to let them know. Students will be provided with an alternate activity during their specials.
Since our Day of Awesomeness is planned to be outside, we will be closing our car rider drive gate after morning arrival is complete and it will remain closed for the day. This is to ensure the safety and security of our students as they participate in the activities near this lane. Please be aware that the afternoon car rider line won't be able to form until the gate opens at 3:15pm on October 25th only.
Day of Unity Is October 19th-Wear Orange
Lunch Visitor Sign Up
As a reminder only grandparents with a parent/guardian note may visit without a guardian one time per week. Due to space limitations, only 2 visitors per student will be allowed at a time. This includes non-school age siblings.
New this year- we will use a Sign Up Genius so parents reserve their spot for lunch. The link will come out the Wednesday before the week in which you can visit for lunch. Please remember to specify the number of visitors attending lunch.

We recognize there will be occasions in which your child does forget their lunch. If a lunch is forgotten at home it must be dropped off by 10am and will be delivered to your child. Only medically necessary items will be delivered after 10am.
Changes of Transportation
Transportation must be either sent in with your student on the day of the change or emailing olecommunications@katyisd.org from a registered email on your student’s account, or by coming up to the vestibule of the school with your valid ID to verify guardianship before 2:30pm. If emailing, please be sure to include student’s name, grade, teacher, change of dismissal (include bus #, address, and stop location if changing to bus), and the date(s) of the change.
A+ Pay N' Go App - Birthday Marquee, Birthday Book Club & Student Id's
Parents and Guardians,
Katy ISD is transitioning to cashless campuses. Therefore, Leonard Elementary will not be accepting cash for school sanctioned events including field trips, fundraisers, materials, etc. All monetary transactions must be made through the Pay N Go App. Any cash sent to school will be returned home with the student unless it is for payment for cafeteria. Cafeteria will continue to take cash payments. Please see the directions below regarding steps in setting up your Pay N Go account. Thank you for your cooperation as we make this transition.
You will need to go to Katyisd.org and create and account with A+ Pay & Go if you have not already done so. Click HERE to go to the A+ Pay & Go website. Once you log in, you will click: Elementary > Elem I - Q > Leonard Elementary for our A + Pay & Go Menu
The Birthday Marquee is for your student's name to appear on the lighted front marquee for the week of your student's birthday. Please sign up at least 5 school days prior to the week of the birthday. Cost is $20.00
For Birthday Marquee, once you log in, click: Elementary > Elem I - Q > Leonard Elementary > OLE Birthday Marquee
The Birthday Book Club is for your student's name to be added to the Book Club Calendar, a book plate with their name is placed on the inside cover of the book of their choosing and donated in the honor of his/her birthday, they will be recognized on the morning announcements, and they get to be the first to check the book out.
