Boys Basketball Wins OT Thriller

The second half was back-and-forth with each team making big shots.

With the score tied at 60 late in regulation, Gadsden City had a chance to win it. The Husky defense stood strong and sent the game into overtime. Gadsden City again had a two point lead in overtime when TJ Alexander scored and was fouled. He made the free throw to give the Huskies the lead for good. With seven seconds left Hewitt had the ball up by two. Damon Harper caught the in bounds pass, raced down the floor, and made the layup to give the team a four point lead.

Coach Thomas said, “It is always a hard fought game when you play Gadsden. They are a top 10 team. I am really pleased with how these guys continue to push through adversity and stay in the moment. It was a great win for the Huskies. Everyone did their part and stepped up to the plate.”
