I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Gives me Strength. Philippians 4:13

Dear Jaguar Families,

Happy first week of school! We are working hard on getting into the school routines and procedures. I am sure families are also adjusting at home with back to school routines and earlier bedtimes. We are almost through that first full week…keep up the good work!

Thank you to all who supported our Mike Jones Golf Tournament last weekend to benefit our Athletic Department. We had a great turn out and a successful event. Also, it was great to see so many families at mass this weekend for our Backpack Blessings!

Jagwear Mondays As a reminder, every Monday students are invited to wear spirit wear tops and uniform bottoms. This will go without saying each Monday. If by chance we are off school on Monday, then students can wear spirit wear on Tuesdays. Spirit wear should only be worn on the first day of the week, unless a free dress pass has been turned in. Every other day of the week Kindergarten-8th grade students should be in a collared shirt.

Lunch supplies Thank you to all who sent in supplies for our lunch room. We are well stocked as of right now. We appreciate your help!

Auction Free Dress Days Each year at our Dinner Auction, we offer all families the opportunity to purchase a "Free Dress Package." This package includes a monthly free dress day. Students will be given a reminder card for the free dress theme and date. If you are interested in purchasing this package for your child, it is $30 per family. The first free dress day is Wednesday, August 31st if you want in on it. You can send the payment in an envelope labeled PTF Free Dress Days and we will get it to Stephanie Diekemper, PTF treasurer.

PTF- Thank you to everyone who attended our first PTF meeting this past Monday. Our next meeting is Monday, September 19th at 6:30 PM, so mark your calendar! We have some fun upcoming PTF sponsored events. I will share the dates with you now so you can add them to your calendar and more details will follow soon. Movie and Cookout Night-Thursday, October 6th and Fall Festival-Saturday, October 22nd.

Scrip Scrip is a fundraising opportunity that requires no selling and no extra out-of-pocket expense for you. Scrip is a program that allows you to purchase gift cards to use not only for gifts but also for your regular shopping. You pay the face value of the card & an additional percentage goes toward the school. For example, you pay $25 for a $25 Applebee's gift card, and the school earns $2.00. You can even designate part of the $2.00 towards your family's tuition. We do have gift cards (see list below) in stock, and we will submit backpack orders every first and third Monday. Our next order will be placed on Tuesday, September 6th. If you would like to purchase any Script that we have in stock, please contact Mrs. Dudkowski. If you would like to place a Scrip order, please print out the attached scrip order form and send it into the office.

Child Protection It is diocesan policy that all volunteers and parents who attend field trips must complete the Child Protection program. If you are new to it, then you complete the online Initial Child Protection Course. Then once that is completed, annually you will need to complete the online refresher course. Please see the attachment on how to complete both of these. This needs to be completed by September 30th.

Playground Duty & Play Date Events Two ways that you can begin earning PIP hours is by helping with playground duty and help organize our playdates for future jaguars.

Playground Duty is from 11:30-12:20 daily. Parent volunteers are with teachers and staff to watch that our students are safe and behaving while playing at recess. We use a Signup Genius for this each month for parents to pick the dates that work best for their schedules. We are full for August and you will find the link for September below. Please make sure to complete your Child Protection training and use the link to sign up.

Playdates for Future Jags-we like to invite families who have younger children to come and play at St. John’s and spend some time with our students. We are looking for a few people to help plan these dates, organize an activity or two for the playdate, and invite our future jags. If you are interested and willing to help, please let me know.

Teacher’s Lounge Amazon Wish List We are thankful and blessed that we have started receiving items off of our Teacher Lounge Amazon Wish List! This list will give us the opportunity to keep our Teachers Lounge stocked with snacks, drinks, supplies, etc. for the 2021-2022 school year. The Amazon Wish List can be located at the link below and will continually be updated with new items as the year continues. Any items purchased from the list will be shipped directly to school.

Thank you in advance for your generosity and support of our staff and faculty!

Formal Agreement Form If you have not completed your Formal Agreement form, please make sure to return that to the school office by Wednesday, August 31st.

Subbing There are times when we need substitute teachers to cover classes due to teachers being sick or needing to take a personal day. If anyone would be interested in helping out by subbing when we are in need of someone, please let me know.

Novels We are looking for some novels for our 3rd grade classroom. Before I purchase these, I wanted to reach out to our families to see if anyone had these in their book collections. If you are looking to get rid of them, we would gladly take them off your hands. These are the books we are looking for: Glory Be, The War with Grandpa, Poppy, Martin Luther King Jr. (by Rob Lloyd Jones), Abby Takes a Stand, Who was Rosa Parks?, Beezus and Ramona, and Marvin Redpost, Why Pick on Me?

Preschool Soccer We are excited to announce that we are having a preschool soccer program this year and it begins next week. The program will last six weeks. The 3 year old Jaguar Cubs will be on Thursdays from 5:30-6:30 PM, and the 4 year old Junior Kindergarteners will be on Mondays from 5:30-6:30PM. Please fill out the registration form link below and send in your payment to school. All practices will be held on the school grounds on the big field behind the Munier Center. If you have any questions, please contact Angelo or Stephanie

The invite is also attached below that you are welcome to share with your child’s grandparent(s) or grandfriend(s) as well.
