If you are a student at TWHS Main campus or freshman campus and are taking an AP class this school year (either full year or a semester class) please make sure you have done the following:

  • First—enroll in your AP course online at—see below
  • Second—you will make payment starting in a few weeks (be on the lookout for more details on when payments can be made on schoolcashonline)

At this time, ALL AP Students need to make sure they have signed into their account and have already enrolled in their AP class sections or exam only sections. This is the student’s responsibility to complete all enrollment into courses. Your teacher will give you the join code, so be sure to check with them if needed.

For students that do NOT already have a College Board account, you will need to go to College Board to create one. Please make sure you only have ONE account, and you must use your legal name when you register. If new to TWHS, please make sure you have updated your school code under your profile to 441471 The Woodlands HS. It’s also very important to make sure you have listed your TWHS school ID under Student ID (also under profile).

Senior orientations begin Monday (by English classes), so we look forward to seeing every single senior in the next couple of weeks. We will answer lots of seniors' most urgent questions (especially about transcripts and recommendation letters) at that time.

Until then, please watch the recorded presentation for our virtual parent night or check out my newest bi-weekly CCC Newsletter.

And -- thank you -- for sharing your kiddos with me. They are lovely humans, and I am grateful to be part of their journey into life beyond high school!

GPA Exemptions: If a current junior or senior would like to have a GPA exemption for a program such as football or orchestra, please have them contact their counselor for a GPA exemption form. Students can add or take away a GPA exemption through September 3, 2021. Students who might seek a GPA exemption should currently have at least a 4.0 weighted GPA.

Many of our students requested the exemption last spring, please look at your student’s schedule. If you see an R in front of the course code you wish to have exempted, then your student already has the exemption. The R is our code to exempt the class. If your student would like to be exempted and you do not see an R, then please have your student reach out to their counselor for an exemption form. Further information on GPA exemptions can be found on the counselor’s webpage or through the CISD link: GPA-Exempt-Courses-1.pdf (

Finally, the best way for a parent to reach their child’s counselor is via email. All counselor email addresses are under our counselor corner webpage.

Please know that counselors have an open-door policy for our students. We welcome our students all day long. If for some reason the counselor has a meeting or is attending a scheduled duty, then a note is offered to the student to briefly write their request. Counselors work to call for our students throughout the day. We are looking forward to a terrific year!

THE WOODLANDS HIGH SCHOOL ART TRUST: Have you ever noticed the 49 works of art by established Texas artists that are permanently displayed in the hallways at school? This is The Woodlands High School Art Trust Collection and we are celebrating our 11th year! This collection of art works has been selected and purchased by our students over the past 10 years. Each year we add new works to the collection and our next selection process is about to begin. Submissions open on September 1st and will be accepted until October 10th for consideration into our collection for 2021. We invite established Texas artists who have had work accepted into a juried show and are over 21 to submit works to be considered for acquisition in 2021. If you know an established Texas Artist that might be interested, please pass this information on! Click HERE to learn more.

In mid-October, our student committee will narrow down the works submitted to 12-15 artworks that will be voted on by the entire student body in mid-November. Posters of the artworks will be on view at school in November and the original pieces will be displayed in the cafeteria just prior to voting. The students will purchase as many as possible of the pieces that receive the most votes on November 18.

The artworks are purchased through funds set aside by Student Council from the Homecoming Dance, however, the framing, lighting and conservation of these pieces need funding. Consider helping with that funding and show your support for The Woodlands High School Art Trust by joining our "One Hundred Friends of Art." Our goal is to have 100 arts supporters make an annual donation to support our cause. Donations are tax deductible and start as low as $10!! Visit our website to make a contribution:

The Woodlands High School Art Trust (TWHSAT) a 501(c)3 organization, was established in 2011 to help maintain, conserve and display the student-selected, student-purchased collection of established artists at The Woodlands High School. The vision for the TWHS Art Trust is to see the art collection grow each year and to have it extend through the hallways of the high school. Pre-COVID we offered FREE tours of our collection to schools and other groups by appointment and we hope to resume these tours as soon as we are able.

Other than the public sculptures around The Woodlands, this is the ONLY permanent collection of art available to the public. It is seen by THOUSANDS of people every day. Please consider supporting this unique collection that sets us apart from other public high schools and strengthens our goal of being one of the best high schools in the state and country.

For more information on The Woodlands High School Art Trust please visit our website: or contact Susan Cosculluela at
