Summer 2019 Internships Recap
"Another thing I learned about myself is that I find peace in my loneliness. I started to do a lot of things by myself for example taking public transportation because I hate having to depend on my parents or siblings. I also started making bigger decisions on my own without having to wait for anyone. From all the stuff I did, I find out about myself that I can be more independent than before"

"This internship fits my future career interest because I’m interested in finance and business. The bank deals with business and financing and from working at the bank, I gained a lot of knowledge about finance, business, marketing and many more things related to business. This had helped me eliminate what kind of business I am interested in and also what I want to study as my major"
--Kabao Vang, c/o 2020, RT US Bank
"Working with adults and kids made me learned to view people in lots of perspectives. An example from the internship was when I was teaching kids class and a kid got angry so I had to talk with him. We went out to the hall and the kid told me he had a bad day, so I apologize and comforted him. There is so much going on, I learned that I need to be cautious and understand other people's situations"
--Alee Xiong, c/o 2021, RT SIR Boxing Gym
"The program may seem simple at first but after almost having gone through the eight-weeks training, I can truly say that it took a lot of effort to not quit. Every day I had to motivate myself to wake up and go to the training site in downtown Saint Paul which was twenty-six minutes away from my house. However, that wasn’t the hardest part. The hardest part was the writing assignments that were given which required high levels of critical thinking. There were times that I felt like quitting and times where I found myself stressing so much that I was unable to sleep at night. However, it was also through the Genesys Works program that I was able to change myself into a person that I had always wanted to become"

Summer Program 2019 Recap
- 1 week of Humanities | Computer Science Track
- 1 week of Agricultural Camp | Horse Camp
- 2 weeks of IceCube | Computer Science Track
- 1 week to Seattle, WA
Overall, camp this past summer was SURELY challenging. Some of us experienced some super-natural events. Some of us felt dis-engaged. And some of us just had fun. BUT! at the end of the summer..... we all came together, made it a successful summer, put on a GREAT event at the end, flew to SEATTLE, some of us had motion sickness, 1 fainted on the plane, still had a blast, and shed many tears and sweat together at Mount Rainier!
