Principal's News
A LOVE Story of the greatest kind!
No, I am not talking about Romeo and Juliet. No, it’s not Jack and Rose from the Titanic either. In fact, it’s not even Noah and Allie from the Notebook.
What if I told you that you are a main character?
Because Easter is really the love story of Jesus and you.
Easter isn’t just a holiday where we enjoy a four day long weekend and over indulge in easter eggs and eat hot cross buns! It is a story about Jesus and how He died especially for each one of us so that we may have eternal life. Jesus saved us from our sins and gave us the gift of grace.
What a sacrifice! True, authentic and genuine love shown to each one of us by Jesus. Now that’s the greatest love story ever told…
In our final week of term we will join together each day in Chapel to share the Easter Story. Parents are welcome to join us for these services each day, starting at 9am on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (3-5 April) and concluding at 1:30pm on Thursday (6 April).
Blessings,
Mrs. Eloise Beveridge

Year 3/4 Cultural Presentations
Year 3/4 learners this term, have had the opportunity to learn about different cultures and with this create a persuasive argument about bringing a cultural celebration to our college.
Last Friday, each class (Yr. 3/4) had 2 of their peers present to Mr Jervies, Mrs Beveridge, and I. On behalf of Mr Jervies and Mrs Beveridge, can I congratulate Vidu, Layken, Isabella, Piper, Wolfie, Kayla, Sofia, Stephans & Layla who were nominated from their classes to present. All speakers did an outstanding job. A special thank you to Mr Gahan and the Yr. 3/4 team for this wonderful initiative. We look forward in coming back to Yr. 3/4 to discuss this further.
Cross Country Training
This week at college, we held our first cross country training session. It was great to see so many primary learners join in to train and develop their running. Please remember, that we will be holding these sessions over the next few weeks. If your child is looking to do some training in preparation for our Cros Country Carnival, Week 1, Term 2, then come along next Thursday at 7.30am at the Trinity Oval. See you there!!
NAPLAN 2023
This week the college concluded our NAPLAN testing across Yr. 3 and Yr. 5. It is a nationwide measure through which parents/carers, teachers, schools, education authorities, governments and the broader community can determine whether young Australians are developing the literacy and numeracy skills that provide the critical foundation for other learning and for their productive and rewarding participation in the community.
Can I thank all Yr. 3 and Yr. 5 teachers for their work this week, with a special thank you to Mrs. Megson (LEAP Coordinator) for coordinating all logistics and importantly running our NAPLAN testing this year.

Prep Bible Presentation
This week all our new learners were presented with their Bible in a special Chapel at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Mildura. This is a special moment for our newest learners, in recognising the start of their journey at Trinity Lutheran College. On behalf of the College, can I thank Pastor Carl, Mrs Heinrich, Mrs Lane and Mrs Coffey for making the day a huge success.
Understanding Who We Are…
Over the course of Term 1, all primary learners have been exploring the Trinity Lutheran College values:
- Acting with Honour
- Growing in Knowledge
- Nurturing the Faith.
During Primary Assemblies, it has been great to go through firstly, what these values mean as part of the Trinity Community and secondly, how they impact us as Trinity Learners. Building culture is an important and valuable component for any school to develop. Therefore, with our values as the foundation, I have encouraged all learners to embrace them and to wear the Trinity Logo proudly.
The best way to develop and build culture, is to embrace what the school is, rather than bringing in something new. By embracing our school motto, we are then authentic and genuine in who we are, which leads to confidence as a learner. Therefore, no matter what, if our learners always know that they are an integral member of the Trinity community, then our learners will always be respected, supported and encouraged to be the best they can be. In many ways, I see this as our Trinity Advantage.
I hope everyone has a great weekend and I look forward to Week 9 at Trinity.
With Thanks,
Mr Fowler

Experience LaTrobe
A number of our Year 10 learners had the opportunity to attend an Open Day at La Trobe’s Mildura Campus. Here they were exposed to many different faculties found onsite including nursing, hospitality and early childhood to name a few.
Thanks to Mrs Clisby for organising this and giving the College these opportunities to explore.
Year 9/10 Electives
The Year 9/10 elective program has been a great initiative for learners to focus on an area of interest. Through student agency they expressed a want for greater opportunities in areas they would like to explore. This year we have increased the opportunities from 2 to 3 elective subjects a semester.
Within these electives there are many different and varying opportunities dependent on the subject being studied. To see learners engaged and wanting to explore areas of interest is great to see. To see the opportunities of being able to explore the district on excursions, developing areas of interest like growing plants or making the College more sustainable, and the academic development in areas of interest in literacy and sociology.
Year 7 & 8 Camp
Tuesday, we see the Year 7s off to Victor Harbor for a camp where they will be experiencing different water sports. The Year 8s venture to Halls Gap for an outdoor adventure where they experience opportunities to test them as individuals and as a group.
It has been fantastic to see nearly all learners in both Year levels wanting to attend their respective camps. These are great opportunities to build on friendships and make memories that can last a lifetime.
Regional Swimming – Swan Hill
A team of 12 swimmers ventured to Swan Hill to compete in the Regional Swimming Championships. After a promising performance at the District Championships there was high hopes and some great results at this carnival.
Sam Mills was able to continue his recent good form and placed first in 100m Breaststroke & 50m Breastroke. Sam is now off to the State Championships in Melbourne on the 28th April.
Sam & Danika had a great day individually placing 2nd and 3rd in a number of events.
Our best performed relay team was the 14yo Girls & Boys who placed 3rd.
District Volleyball & Tennis
The College was recently represented at both the District Volleyball Carnival and Tennis Champioships.
The College had 4 teams in the Volleyball with teams from Year 7/8 & Year 9/10 Boys & Girls. The day was a success in so many ways other than winning through to the next stage. The teams acquitted themselves well in their games and showed they were more than capable of competing against the better teams. The pleasing aspect for me was the way they did play their games in a competitive nature, but were very supportive of their team mates and a great attitude to their opposition. Thanks to Kim Kalms for his assistance with training leading up to the event and coaching on the day and to Mrs Kalms, Mrs Arney & Mr Stewart for their assistance.
The tennis players were up against it from the start with a few late withdrawals, but acquitted themselves to enjoy the day and improve on their skills. Thanks to Mr Debrah for his assistance with this group.
