THE BATTLEFIELD
Perhaps we all might agree that in our younger years we saw this battlefield of love a little differently. But now, our past experiences have taught us to better navigate the obstacles. The lessons we learned have grown our resiliency. The things that once caused us to stumble are now under our feet.
February is the month for love. What greater love to talk about than God's love?
God revealed his love for us in the ultimate way through the sacrifice of his son, Jesus.
The battlefield for our hearts led Jesus to the cross. Satan tried his best to win that battle and he continues to fight against God's work in our children.
This week as we amplify our focus on God during Spiritual Emphasis Week we will without doubt be challenged on this battlefield. When God is up to something good, we can count on the devil to place obstacles in our way. Experience has taught us to walk through these challenges by following God and leaning on him for the victory.
Our students, the next generation, will face challenges in life and on the spiritual battlefield. This battle that they face can only be won through trusting and following Christ.
We are praying that our focus stays on God this week. We are praying for the hearts and minds of our children to be captured by God as they enter this battlefield.
Romans 5:8 But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Ephesians 6:10-11 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

SPIRITUAL EMPHASIS WEEK
During Spiritual Emphasis Week students in grades 6-12 will participate in morning and afternoon learning sessions. Morning sessions will include games, worship, a message from one of the CCS staff, and small group reflection time. Afternoon sessions will include a time of worship and a message from one of our local pastors.
This year's theme is Make it Matter.
Everyone wants to change the world. But how do you define real impact?
Do you define impact by the total number of followers or likes? Do you define impact by being invited to the right places with the right people? Or maybe you define impact by achievements, where your contribution to the world is measured in trophies or scores. If so, here’s a hard truth: trophies and likes can make an impact, but not truly matter.
Real impact happens when God works through us. And when we grasp this truth, the way we see our lives and the world around us changes. Make It Matter shows how much difference a life empowered by the Word can make; how Jesus is the power source for a life that matters; how God designed us to impact the world together; and how trusting in God’s plan is the key to real impact.
We are so excited about our students getting to experience Make it Matter; we believe that over the course of the week, they will truly see the radical difference God makes in the lives of His people.
