Cardinal News
January 3rd - January 8th
Vision
At East Central Junior High we are committed to preparing students academically and socially to be self-sufficient, contributing members of the community with plans for a successful future.
Welcome Back
I hope this edition of Cardinal News finds you relaxed and recharged after a well deserved two week break. The first semester (and the last two weeks) have really flown by and here we are on the eve of starting the second semester of the 2015-16 school year. As you reflect on the first semester I hope you will take notice of all of the ways that you positively impacted the students that we serve. I also hope you will take the opportunity to reflect on areas to focus on for second semester growth and improvement.
Another reason that it is nice to have a two week break in the calendar is that it serves as a natural reset point for our school wide expectation. As we greet our students bright and early tomorrow morning it is important that we continue to communicate, communicate, communicate the expectations on an hourly, daily and weekly basis. We cannot over communicate our expectations and then the most important part is to Inspect what we Expect.
As we exit the gymnasiums in the morning there will be a couple changes that you will notice. Over the break we moved Mrs. Pippin, Mr. Weber and Mrs. Oglesby down to the new part of the building (old swimming pool area). This could potentially impact our morning transition until we figure out the best route for these classes to take from the gyms.
Finally, a shout-out to Steve and Nate who worked with me on Monday to build dividers in our Traice Satellite room (pics below).
I can't wait to see everyone tomorrow. Let's hit the ground running and continue to define our culture.
