Why the First amendment was added to the Bill of Rights
Why was it added? And who was it that suggested it?
The first amendment was suggested by Thomas Jefferson and added by James Madison. The reason Thomas Jefferson made it such a big priority was because the First amendment would protect the people's basic rights without the government being able to interfere.
