The Amazon produces 20% of the world's oxygen supply.It has some of the biggest and tallest trees in the world.
The Amazon rain forest
The Amazon is the largest rain forest at 6.9 million square kilometers.It has a lot of life and over 5,505 different species of animals.
Amazon Trees and Plants
The Amazon is estimated to have 16,000 tree species and 390 billion individual trees.It has many plants,vines,and bushes that are unique in there own way.
Amazon Hydro-electric Deforesta-tion
They are planing to put up to 400 dams in the Amazon basin which will cut down over 100,000 trees.This is making the soil weak and uprooting the trees.
Mining Problems
Mining has become a upcoming problem in the Amazon because of the demand for copper,nickle,steel,and aluminum.It has cost the lives of many animals,plants, and trees.
Farming Problems
Since the population in Brazil is going up, farmers and big food producing companies are paying to use some of the Amazon for farming land for crops and cattle.
Summary
I learned a lot about about the Amazon Rain Forests facts and challenges including deforestation,mining, and farming challenges and how the effect parts of Brazil and the whole world. If some of this keeps up our atmosphere's oxygen level could drop tremendously and could have a big impact on our communities.Some positive effects are it gives animals a nice place to live and thrive along with plants and other living things.The WWF is doing its very best to help protect and save the Amazon and all the living creatures inside of it.
