Yankees Revolutionary Grand Opening
Remember the New York Yankees baseball team announcement a couple years back on their grand plans to build a baseball stadium? Well a newly build baseball field is ready for fans to fill it! Across from the Harlem River in Bronx, New York, this $675,000 purchase of 10 acres of land is now 10 acres of Yankees. The team had been sharing fields with the New York Giants since 1913, reminder of the tension between the teams rising after the Yankees brought in 100,000 more fans than the Giants ever received. Order from the Giant's to vacant the use of Polo Grounds was put into permit and not long after that construction began.
