CELC News & Updates
Hello Creekside Families,
I hope that everyone had a fun and restful spring break! We are looking forward to seeing the smiling faces of our Cubs on Monday, April 5. It won't be long and we will get to see those cute little faces even more. Mark you calendars for May 17! The district is preparing to welcome the students 5 days a week.
Our new drop off procedures in the morning have been running smoothly. Thank you for your support during this transition! I am so proud of our Cubs. Please continue to share our morning map and routine to grandparents and friends that drop off.
Thank you to the anonymous parent that sent the staff lunch the Friday before our break! It was delicious and very much appreciated! Thank you for your big heart and your generosity.
Weekly Reminders and Updates:
- Ms. Ludden, our newest CELC teacher, will begin working with small groups of students this week.
- Please report all absences to the office. We are required to trace all absences. Illnesses may require a 10-14 day stay at home. All students that are out for any reason will be temporarily assigned to distance learning. They can receive credit for their time off campus if they complete work online.
- The district continues to serve food during our 4-Day Schedule on Mondays from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at JMMS. If that time doesn't work for you, there is also a 5:00 pm pick up.
- Child Nutrition Services offers snack pick up for students at CELC during pick up times on Mondays. The grab and go snack bag will contain 5 days worth of snacks. This is available to all students 18 and under.
- Join us for VIRTUAL FUN FRIDAYS. See the flyer below for April's schedule. Post pictures using #virtualfunfriday
- The district is still providing free wifi access at CELC, SHES, JMMS, and BOES. Just park in the lot and log in. The wifi name is AlpineUnited and no password is needed.
- The district has tech support available to parents. Please email helpdesk@alpineschools.net with your technology questions.
Although it was nice to have some time off, I am looking forward to seeing the kiddos tomorrow! Don't forget to wear your college shirt tomorrow.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Ripke
Phase Three AM Drop Off
Please review the morning drop off procedures:
For the safety of students, parents, and staff, drop off procedures are changing for Phase Three. Parents will no longer be able to enter campus in the morning (with the exception of preschool: rooms 1 and 2, and ESS prior to 8:30 am). Please review the map and written directions prior to March 15, 2021. PLEASE also share it with any other family members or friends that share in the responsibility of dropping your student off.
Please note that no changes have been made to drop off times and assigned gates. There are also no changes to pick up times, assigned gates, or procedures. However, please make sure you continue to maintain social distance and only have one adult on campus per student. We plan to continue to use this schedule the remainder of the year.
Families have two choices at drop off:
Pull up and drop off curbside at designated time/area
Park in the upper lot and walk your student to their gate
Staff members will be out front welcoming and assisting students
Additional staff will be placed on campus between the gate and the classrooms to assist/direct students as needed
There is NO PARKING on the curb in the morning
Parent parking in the upper lot ONLY
Lower lot is open to disabled students/parents ONLY
Drive carefully and slowly move forward and watch for pedestrians
- Pull forward and DO NOT merge out and pass the car line- wait patiently for the line to move forward, even if your child has already been dropped off
Staggered times and gate assignments remain the same. Please ensure that you are arriving within the window and PLEASE do not get in the drop off line prior to your designated time. If you are early, you will be asked to pull forward and either park on the upper parking level and wait, or get back in line. Reminder of times and gates:
Dual Language (DL) Kindergarten: 8:30 am to 8:40 am at the front gate
English Only (EO) Kindergarten (Rooms 11 and 12): 8:40 am to 8:50 am at the rolling gate

MVLA (Room 6): Beginning at 8:50 am at the front gate
EAK (Room 3): 9:00 am to 9:10 am at the front gate
DL Kindergarten cars will pull up into "spots" 1-9 and move forward. CELC staff will help direct families to release at spaces 1, 2, 3, and 4. Cars will continue to move forward and only release in designated areas.
EO Kindergarten cars will pull up into "spots" 4-9 and move forward. CELC staff will help direct families to release at spaces 4, 5, 6, 7, and maybe 8. Cars will continue to move forward and only release in designated areas.
EO TK and DL TK cars will pull up into spots 1-9 and move forward. CELC staff will help direct families to release at spaces 1, 2, 3, and 4. Cars will continue to move forward and only release in designated areas.
EAK cars will pull up into spots 1-9 and move forward. CELC staff will help direct families to release at spaces 1, 2, 3, and 4. Cars will continue to move forward and only release in designated areas.

Thank for your support with the implementation of the new drop off procedures. It went very well the first week we implemented it! Thank you for helping to keep us all safe and open for in-person learning!

Action for Happiness calendars are packed with actions you can take to help create a happier and kinder world. Take a look at the April Calendar. Keeping active is a great way to boost our mental wellbeing. So this month Action for Happiness is encouraging everyone to get moving and get outdoors as much as possible. Whatever your circumstances or physical limitations, you can find your own ways to be a bit more active. We don't need to run marathons - there are simple things we can all do to take care of our bodies, like unplugging from technology, reconnecting with nature and getting more sleep!
