News from the Reading Team
If you have a child in Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, or 6th grade at Harris, we will have materials to help support the virtual learning platform at home. Please drive thru the parent pick up/drop off loop and one of us will bring you the materials on Friday, 8/28/2020 between 8:00 am - 11:30 am.
Updating Your Chromebooks
They can update and continue working, BUT they must make sure to restart the Chromebook in order for the update to take effect.
In general, this is a good thing for students to be in the habit of updating when they see the Gopher Buddy has the red triangle.

Message From PTSO
We understand the beginning of this school year has not been an easy transition, but we are so proud of the staff, teachers and parents who have been working tirelessly to help our students learn this new way of learning. We are also so incredibly proud of your students for working so hard. All you parents and caregivers keep on encouraging them!! We are all in this together and our positive attitudes help our children be positive!
With all the changes this year, we are asking for your help. Our PTSO executive board is currently down two essential members. We are in desperate need of a Vice President and Secretary.
Vice President:
- Act as an assistant to the president, may perform the duties of the president in the absence of the president
- Assist the president with other delegated duties as assigned
- Act as a liaison between standing committees and the executive board
Secretary:
- Attend meetings and keep an accurate record of the proceedings of the meeting
- Be prepared to refer to minutes of previous meetings
- Maintain the PTSO book of records

Annual Update - IMPORTANT!
If you haven’t already, it is time to complete the online ‘Annual Update’ to prepare for the new school year. The ‘Annual Update’ in Infinite Campus allows you to tell us of any updates to your contact information, address changes, and updates to emergency contacts.
In order to ensure we can communicate with you regarding your student, or in case of emergency, it is essential that we have your up to date contact details. Please log in to your Infinite Campus parent portal and complete your student’s ‘Annual Update’ today.
FREE & REDUCED MEAL APPLICATIONS
We were successful getting approval for our campus to change the meal service times to ensure no child goes hungry. We will start serving at 7:00 AM thru 2:00 PM.
These times are only available for students enrolled at Harris Elementary.
**All Harris students receive a FREE breakfast. If you do not qualify for a FREE or REDUCED lunch, the cost will be $3.00.
Free and Reduced-price Meals are available to families who qualify. Please click on the following link to apply or to renew your child for the 20-21 school year.
