A Message from the Principals
Hello Millbridge Families,
As you known, due to the public health emergency, a decision was made to transition school to full-remote for all students district-wide except those in self-contained and preschool programs. In order to ensure that the transition is as smooth as possible for our students and families, we are allocating time on Monday and Tuesday for teachers to meet with their students and families to review the new schedule and the expectations. The new schedule will begin on Thursday, which will allow families to make the necessary arrangements for students to participate in their various Google Meets.
We will be maintaining the cohort model for our youngest learners to ensure that students' receive the most effective remote instruction prossible. Over the past couple of months, we have had the advantage of teaching a number of students remotely and have learned how to best leverage the technology and learning structures to support this age group while ensuring that we are addressing students' social, emotional and academic needs. Our instructional plan limits the amount of screen time for students, provides numerous opportunities for students to apply skills using pencil and paper, and provides students with opportunities for small group and 1:1 instruction.
We realize that our students rely extremely heavily on support from their parents, guardians and caregivers to do their schoolwork while at home. Numerous parents have communicated the need for flexibility and we will continue to try and provide this to the greatest extent possible while still ensuring students continue to develop a strong academic foundation.
As always, we appreciate your continued support, please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
Educationally yours,
Mrs. Lowe and Mrs. Murphy
