What are renewable resources?
The need for renewable resources is becoming increasingly more necessary, because non renewable energy sources will eventually run out. Renewable energy sources are more clean than non renewable energy sources. The five main energy sources are wind, solar, biomass, geothermal and hydroelectricity. Renewable energy sources are not always new ideas but they will definitely help in the conservation of energy on our planet.
What is hydroelectricity?
Hydroelectricity is the renewable resource we get electricity from. The hydroelectricity we get, came from the energy of the water. Not the water itself. After the energy in the water gives up, the water flows back to the ocean. There are many ways to get energy from water. An example, is wave power. Wave power is when the wind blows the water. I guess that makes wind a part of hydroelectricity. Speaking of which, did you know that the energy in the water actually came from the sun? I guess that makes solar power a part of hydroelectricity as well! Tidal power is the most reliable hydroelectric source. 2000 years ago, Romans decided to build channels to clean the water and bring it to their cities. It's a good thing water is a cycle so we will never run out (unless we pollute the earth). It would be non-renewable if it didn't have a cycle because we would only be able to get it from the oceans and when we run out, we would run out and there would be no more. *Fun Fact* The dams in the U.S were not built for power they were built for flood control.
