An arranged marriage is the union of a man and woman brought together by someone else. There are many reasons why people choose to have an arranged marriage. A couple reasons are political, military, social, and royal bloodlines. A most likely process of having an arranged marriage is the parents first meet the match and see if their age is suitable. Then, the two matches see each other, and communicate. Most people have the option of rejecting their match if they want.

Arranged Marriages in Delirium

In Delirium, love is considered a disease. Lena is a rule follower, so she can't wait for her cure and not have to worry about anything. She has her evaluation, which evaluators see who can be your best pair. So, nobody's supposed to fall in love. But she meets Alex. You're supposed to meet your match, get married, and live together. After the cure, though, you don't have feelings left. That's not in Lena's plans anymore.

Censorship is the practice of officially examining books, movies, etc., and suppressing unacceptable parts. An organization called ACLU is dedicated to protecting and expanding the First Amendment. Censorship can be carried out by the government as well as private pressure groups. In Delirium, computers are censored so the regulators know what people are doing. Movies, books, songs, etc., are also censored. Bad or emotional scenes are deleted from it.

  • Indecent or obscene pictures and/or videos
  • Media violence
