Updates from our Superintendent, Dr. Cowherd
Superintendent Dr. Jeanette Cowherd has some important things to share with you about how the increasing cases are affecting us in Park Hill, particularly with our ability to have enough teachers, support staff and substitutes. Please take a moment to watch this short video to see what we're doing to try to prevent closures and what you need to know to be prepared.

Board of Education Meeting:
Dr. Cowherd shared more about these issues at the Board of Education meeting on Thursday, November 12. Click below for a recording if you missed the meeting and would like to watch:
Food Drive for Leadership Ambassadors
SE Leadership Ambassadors will be collecting non-perishable snack food items that will be used to supplement the Harvesters Back Snack bags. Ideas for those items are listed below.
There will be donation boxes in the hallway of your grade level to place your items. The Student Leadership Ambassadors will manage the boxes and get the food to the volunteers in charge of back snacks.
Here are some items they would like to have:
• Individual applesauce cups (or squeezable)
• Individual pudding cups
• Mini ravioli cups
• Boxes of macaroni and cheese or Easy Mac cups
• Jars of peanut butter
• Rice Krispie treats (individually packaged)
• Snack size packs of cookies, crackers etc.
Thank you so much for supporting our Food Drive and our fellow Superstars!
Park Hill Clothing Center
Park Hill Clothing Closets needs volunteers! Due to extra COVID-19 precautions being used, the Clothing Closet is behind on sorting and hanging up clothes. By catching up on sorting and hanging items, our families will have a greater selection of items to choose from when they shop!
By signing up, you not only help stock the clothing closet, but you will also gain exclusive access to shop in the Clothing Closet before it opens for appointments and during Volunteer only Clothing Closet days! Click the links below to sign-up:

Student Ambassador's November Kindness Campaign
Our Student Ambassadors Club has deemed November Kindness and Thankfulness month. They will be doing some activities throughout the month to promote kindness in our building - starting with Kindess BINGO! The Kindness Bingo game was sent home with in-person students on Monday. Online students can also participate by marking the image below electronically and submitting it to their classroom teacher. Students can complete the challenges, mark them off on their paper and have someone at home initial it.
If students get 4 in a row, they can turn their board in for 5 PBIS Leadership Points. If they choose to keep working on it and get a BLACK OUT, all spaces completed, they can turn it in for 20 PBIS Leadership Points. Students must turn in their bingo cards to Mrs. Andrade or Coach Colletti by November 30th to collect points!
Miles of Smiles
Miles of Smiles dental program is starting soon! The dental care will be provided at Southeast from November 17 through December 4. Please register ASAP to ensure your child can be seen by the dentist at Southeast. We highly encourage online registration, which can be found at this link: https://levelupkidsinc.org/patientinfo Please contact Ellie Logan (816-359-5733) or Amy Powell (816-359-6892) if you have any questions or need help registering your child. If your child is a Park Hill Online student, and you would like them to be seen by a dentist, please contact Ellie Logan. Southeast would like to help all students see a dentist!
Miles of Smiles, a program of LevelUp Kids, provides free dental care to children in the Northland who do not have access to oral health services. All care is provided by a licensed dentist and assistants. Miles of Smiles treats children from the ages of 3 to 18, and all of their patients receive a comprehensive exam, cleaning and x-rays.
November Curriculum Connections
Check out the linked Curriculum Connections below to see what Park Hill students are learning! We want to share the learning topics at all of the grade levels so that you can ask your child about their learning this month. Your child's teacher is always happy to provide more details should you have questions!

This week we awarded 9,678 PBIS Leadership Points!
- 1st Quarter Total: 50,858 points
This year we are working hard to recognize students for all the great things that they are doing. When staff notice students following our school PBIS expectations (Be Safe, Be Kind, Be Proactive, Be a Leader) they often award students a Leadership Point.
Do you know a Park Hill Star?
The Park Hill Star recognition program was started in 2015 to celebrate support staff and teachers whose work is especially noteworthy.
The following is an overview of the Park Hill Star Program:
Our employees are the reason we are so successful here in the Park Hill School District, and we would like to recognize them for all they do for our students. That is why we present the Park Hill Star award once a month to a pre-K or elementary teacher, a secondary teacher and a support employee.
Southeast Communication
You will find several ways to stay up to date on school activities on the Southeast website , Facebook, and newsletters from your child’s teacher. You will also occasionally get an automated email or voicemail message sent to you, by the school, with important information and reminders. We know two-way communication is best, so please feel free to call or email with any questions you may have regarding your child’s education.
