Growing Leaders!
Principal's Message!
"STUFF the BUS" was a huge success at Furr Elementary! Thank you for donating to our local food pantries, Bethlehem Place and Grace Bridge Food Pantry. All week long, there was a continual stream of students bringing up items for our Stuff the Bus Drive. This was another example of ..Giving Back to Our Community and helping OUR families in need. We collected over 3000 items all together and our Student Council Representatives helped load these items into the bus! Thank you Furr Families!
Raise Craze continues to confront us daily through Acts of Kindness! On Friday, during our Furr Family Gathering, Mrs. Gannon and Myself were duct-taped to the wall by our students who were our fundraiser winners. I also wanted to thank our PTO for making this event happen! FUN was had by ALL (Pictures are below)!
Stone Soup for Kindergarteners!
On Thursday, our Kindergarteners had the privilege of having our very own, Pat Spaeth, narrate the story of "Stone Soup"! Afterwards, our students tasted the soup along with some homemade butter and bread. It smelled delicious! It tasted delicious! It was delicious! Thank you parents for your help!
This past week was another GREAT week filled with learning, laughter, kindness, and some duct tape challenges! As I walk through the halls and I peak in the doors, I see classroom morning meetings, where students greet one another and discuss the agenda for the day; I hear laughter and kind words spoken, I see students working on math projects, I see collaboration between students working on Hands-On science labs, I see students writing in their journals, I see all students with a reading book in their hand, and I see students using their Presentation Skills as they present their projects to the class. Everything mentioned is just a fraction of what goes on in a classroom and on a daily basis. IT does take ALL of US to help educate and support our kids. Kids deserve it! You deserve it! Thank you for your help in partnering with us. EDUCATION is IMPORTANT!

TARDIES: We have had many students late to school...and late to class, since our weather has started to cool down. When a student is late, they miss out on their class morning meetings! The first part of the day is crucial to the social-emotional well-being of all our students! The day is specifically designed around this and when our students are late, they are missing this vital lesson. Please make sure you are getting your student to school on time! Thank you.
LABELING ALL ITEMS: Parents, if possible, please label all items that are sent to school with your child's last name on it. I would rather return an item, back to our students, than for any item never to be reclaimed again. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you for entrusting us with your children so that we can make the world a better place. It starts with us...Be Kind!
Respectfully,

CHESS CLUB @FurrElem!!!!!
Creative Writing Club Event you won't want to Miss!
The Creative Writing Club (CWC) at Prosper High School is sponsoring two community events on Tuesday, December 10 from 4:30-5:30pm, and Tuesday, December 17 from 6:30-7:30 at the Prosper High School Library.
On December 10, students from CWC and the Creative Writing Class will be reading their original holiday stories to children ages 12 and under. Cookies, milk and juice will be provided. The stories being presented will be bound in a book, with artwork from the PHS art department and the National Arts Honor Society (NAHS), and given to the children as a gift. The children will also be given an opportunity to write their own stories.
On December 17, our Creative Writing Students from CWC and the class will be reading their work to friends and family. Students will read their original work, but in a more formal setting. Refreshments and dessert will be provided. These stories will also be bound in a book, and sold at the event.
Would you please advertise both events in your District Newsletter in the weeks leading up to the event? We are also reaching out to ENN, ENO, Dr. Burdett, Dr. Watkins, the Prosper Public Librarian, Ms. Scott, PHS Librarians and the PISD Elementary School Librarians. If you have any other advertising suggestions, please let me know.
We can provide you with a flyer for both events, if needed. Thank you!
