Message from Dr. Ramirez
Hello CRHS Learning Community,
Yes, it's finally sweater weather! The temps are dropping and I'm loving m brisk walks with my dogs...wearing sweaters. Can you tell that autumn is one of my favorite seasons?
Elections are Tuesday, as everyone knows. This year is unlike any other we have experienced. Regardless of one's political affiliation, the CRHS staff and teachers are required to maintain neutral positions on the election results and discussions thereafter. I am also asking you all, as our CRHS community, to honor and respect people's feelings about the outcome of our local, state, and federal elections. Oftentimes, what is stated in social media percolates to the classroom. Thank you for you cooperation in navigating through this event.
I am holding a special parent meeting on Thursday, November 5, at two different times, to review your options for the Spring semester should we return to Plan B, alternating weeks. There will be two options from which students will choose: 1. Hybrid: One week at home and one week at school. Within this model, students can keep their schedule but may choose to stay 100% remote. 2. Self-Paced Virtual Academy: 100% remote, no live teacher, students complete work at their own pace.
This week parents will receive an OCS survey asking them what option they would prefer. I suggest that you attend one of our meetings or see the recordings before you make your choice. The Self-Paced Virtual Academy is new and will most likely cause changes to students' second-semester class schedules. I will also discuss the new bell schedule, club schedule, and other changes related to safety.
I hope you all have a great Fall week.
Sincerely,
Dr. Ramirez
