Principal's Corner
March 27th
Spirit Assembly
I heard that the spirit assembly was amazing! Thank you to George and all of the teachers who assisted with this. I am sure the students enjoyed it.
Grizzlie's Game
Permission slips are being handed out to students who were on the Principal's List and Honor Roll to attend a field trip to watch a Fresno Grizzlies game on Tuesday, April 25th. Students will leave the school at approximately 7:30 AM and return at 4:00 PM. Students will get a free lunch (hot dog and beverage) and participate in a "Making the Grade" assembly in the morning. We will be asking for some teachers to assist us with chaperoning too. We're excited to be able to participate in this fun event this year.
Quarter 4 Focus on EL's
Our Quarter 3 data showed growth for many subject areas with more students meeting proficiency in the standards that were assessed. However, a majority of our EL's are not meeting proficiency. During the 4th quarter as you work on your informational writing performance task; research standards; math tasks, etc. please focus in on you EL's and provide them with language supports, tools, or organizers to support their learning.
End of the Year Awards
Nicole is starting the planning process for End of the Year Awards. There are a number of awards that we present to our 8th-grade students at the end of the year awards assembly and graduation. And there are also department plaques and pins that we award our 6th-8th-grade students at the end of the year awards assemblies. Nicole will be sending out the first nomination form to teachers this coming week to begin gathering these names in order to start ordering the plaques.
Wisconsin
I am leaving Sunday morning on a recruiting trip to Wisconsin with Tim and Bob. We will return on Tuesday afternoon, so I will be off site Monday and Tuesday. I will be available by email or text if you need anything.
