Tonasket Elementary Library
Expanding Computer Science for Elementary Educators Grant
Tonasket Elementary Library received a grant to support computer science learning! Training and materials were provided by the Professional Educator Standards Board (PESB). We are excited for our students and educators to explore computer science! Computer science equips students to thrive in today’s digital economy and empowers them to explore career opportunities in the rapidly growing field of STEM.
Check out the incredible computer science lessons our students are engaging in. There are a variety of robotics lessons used at each grade level. PESB provided us with the Botley 2.0 robots. Our fourth graders tested them out first. This "test drive" is one way the teacher librarian's is preparing to use the robots with the intended target audience, K-3 students. More photos and information to come in the next few days, so stay tuned!

Across Washington, too few students are learning about computer science. At our school, we’re changing that through new technologies and learning opportunities with our educators!
