Volunteer Opportunities
As a reminder, the tuition of each student is discounted by $450 when parents agree to complete 30 volunteer service hours at the school or church. Per your tuition agreement, 15 hours are due by December 15, 2018 and 15 additional hours are due by April 30, 2019. Here are some of the ways you can begin earning service hours right away:
- Attend one of the monthly Wildcat Workdays to perform yard work or other chores around the school. (The first one is this Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.)
- Set up the barricades each morning or afternoon. Schedule a day and time with Mrs. Burns.
- Attend the International Fair meeting this Thursday at 7 p.m. in the church office and find out how you can earn all of your hours.
- Volunteer to work concessions at the upcoming volleyball games.
- Lead our Neighborhood Litter Stomp (in cooperation with the City of Fort Worth - contact Mrs. Burns for more information).
Please contact me via email to sign up for any of these opportunities or to discuss other ways to earn your hours. Don't wait until December to earn your hours!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Mary Burns
Important Note About the Iowa Assessments - September 10-14
Next week, students in grades 1 through 8 will take the Iowa Assessments. This is a requirement of the Diocese of Fort Worth to monitor students strengths and areas for additional instruction. These are not tests that determine grade promotion. Please do not schedule any appointments during testing week. Make sure your children get plenty of sleep and a good breakfast each morning. If you have any questions, please contact the school office. Thank you for supporting your child's success.
Free Family Photos! ¡Fotos Familiares Gratis!
Saint Rita Catholic Church is putting together a directory. As members of the school, you are also part of the church community. Please sign up for a time for your family photo at the link below for times on September 4, 5, and 6. Each family will receive a free 8 x 10 photograph. Walks-ins are welcome, and there is no obligation to purchase photos.
Mark Your Calendars for Sunday, October 7!
Do you like food, games, and entertainment? Then Saint Rita Catholic Community has the event for you! On Sunday, October 7, the church will host its 40th International Fair - an annual event that offers food from cultures around the world, carnival games, entertainment, and silent auction. This year will offer new events including a volleyball tournament, jalapeño eating contest, and much more! This is an excellent opportunity to get to know members of our community, eat some delicious food, and earn volunteer service hours by working in a booth, setting up and taking down the event, or serving on the planning committee. Contact the church office to find out how you can participate - (817) 451-9395.
Raffle tickets will come home with your child for chances to win amazing prizes!
