8th Grade - End of the Year
As the school year comes to a close, we are looking forward to multiple opportunities to celebrate our 8th-grade students and all that they have accomplished in their time at Argyle, including:
- a dance for only 8th graders on June 2, from 3:00-5:00
- a promotion ceremony on June 14 at Kennedy High School
- a field trip to Main Event on June 15
We understand that this time of year is very emotional for students as they excitedly look towards high school and also begin to separate from teachers and friends who they have known for years and who will not be joining them at their choice of high school.
As we wind down the year, please remind students to manage these emotions appropriately using adult support both inside and outside of school and that mismanagement resulting in inappropriate or unsafe behavior will include consequences, up to and including being uninvited from the above events. Adult support in the school includes: visiting the counseling office, working with a trusted adult, or receiving permission to use the Be Well Room.
8th grade promotion & Main Event
The 8th-grade promotion ceremony will be held at John F. Kennedy High School on June 14th from 10:00-11:30 am. Please arrive at 9:00. Students will be given tickets for 2 guests.
8th-grade students' end-of-year field trip to Main Event held on June 15th. There will be unlimited bowling & laser tag, along with arcade games and pizza included. The cost is $46 and the deadline for the permission forms is Friday, June 2nd. Students may bring extra money if they'd like to purchase additional food or game time.

Confiscated Devices - Parent Pick Up
As we continue with the second half of the school year, you may receive a call for "device parent pick-up." For students who have had their personal devices turned into the main office 3 or more times, a parent will be called to pick up the device, rather than returning the device to the student at the end of the school day. Phones, AirPods, headphones, and similar personal devices should only be accessed by students during their lunch. Students may not use their personal devices during class or in the hallways. Students may not use headphones in the hallways during transitions.

SchoolCash Online
Dear Parent/Guardian,
Montgomery County Public Schools has transitioned to a new online payment system called SchoolCash Online as its preferred method of payment for all school-related fees.
SchoolCash Online helps parents/guardians and community members pay school-related fees safely, quickly, and easily. SchoolCash Online will help increase efficiency and security at schools by making payments directly into schools’ bank accounts and eliminating the need for teachers to handle money. In addition, once registered, you will be immediately informed about school activities!
Powered by KEV Group, SchoolCash Online is the industry leader in the management of school fees. The new system puts all of the school-related fees online for purchase so users can make purchases online using a credit card or e-check. A processing fee will be included on all items available for purchase, regardless of the type of payment used on SchoolCash Online or at the school.
