Word Work - Making nouns plural
Today, you get to SHOW WHAT YOU KNOW!!
The spelling patterns for making nouns plural that you know are:
1. To MOST nouns, add an -s
2. To nouns that end in -sh, -ch, -s, -x, or -z, add an -es
3. To nouns that end in consonant -y, change the y to an i and add -es
4. To nouns that end in -f or -fe, change the f to a v and add -es
5. Some nouns are irregular and change their spelling completely.
For a quick review, watch this BrainPopJr video on Plural Nouns https://jr.brainpop.com/readingandwriting/word/pluralnouns/
Now, use the patterns above to make the following nouns plural. They are mixed up so you have to check the endings very carefully and figure out which pattern to apply. I've done the first one for you. It helps if you read them out loud.
1. one girl, many __girls __________
2. one puppy, many _______________
3. one leaf, many _________________

Writing
Description of Work:
We will be writing informational texts this week. You will create your own How-To book where you will explain to a reader how to do something, how to be something, or how to make something.
You can use notebook paper (or paper you have available) or use the attachment below to print papers.
Today you will:
1. Review each page and make sure you have everything on the Informational Writing Checklist.
2. Make your final changes (illustrations, bring your pictures to life, editing checklist- below).
3. Read Aloud your Published Piece on your Writing Flip Grid.
Math - Multiplication/Repeated Addition
Here is an optional game you can play for extra practice putting objects into groups.
There are 2 ways you can play:
Using a deck of cards or UNO cards, place all of the number cards face down in one pile. Draw 2 cards. On a sheet of paper or outside with chalk draw objects to represent the cards you flipped over. Write the repeated addition sentence and see if you can create your own word problem to match.
OR
Using a pair of dice, roll the dice. On a sheet of paper or outside with chalk, draw objects to represent the numbers you rolled. Make sure to write the repeated addition sentence to represent it and see if you can create a word problem to match.
Have fun
