National School Breakfast Week 2020
We will be celebrating National School Breakfast Week during the week of March 2 – March 6, 2020. This year’s theme is “School breakfast, out of this world!”. It’s a weeklong celebration of the National School Breakfast program, permanently established in 1975 by an act of Congress. Schools across the country celebrate with special menu items, events, and student activities. NSBW is the perfect time to bring attention to the HCS CNP breakfast program and set goals to increase participation.

Mrs. Wonda Miles has been employed with Huntsville City Schools for over 17 years in the Child Nutrition Program (CNP). She is originally from Meridianville, Alabama. She describes herself as a person who is fun, energetic, honest, upfront with people.
Wonda has resided in Huntsville for her entire life. She says that the best thing about working in CNP is that she gets to cook and be able to feed the kids at her school site. When Wonda is not working she goes to church, relaxes, and has a lot of fun. Her favorite music genres are rock, country, jazz, and Christian music. Wonda expresses that her co-workers may not know that she is very passionate when comes to her family and friends. She likes working in CNP because of the children, preparing meals, and meeting different people. If She were not working in CNP then she would have a job at a daycare or assisting the elderly.
Wonda’s favorite hobby is going fishing, traveling, and going out to eat. She also feels that CNP is important because a lot of times children are hungry, and they need to be shown love when they are being fed. Wonda’s favorite sports are swimming and Alabama football. Wonda feels that teamwork is what comes to mind when she thinks of working in CNP. One day she hopes to visit Alaska to see her son and his family. In the next five years, Wonda plans to be retired and traveling. She also believes that success is defined as giving your all and doing the best that you can in everything that you do.
