Skylab was a space station launched and operated by NASA and was the United States first space station. Skylab orbited earth from 1973 to 1979. The launch date was may 14 1979. When the Skylab was launched it lost a solar panel and part of its external shielding.


Mir stayed in orbit for 15 years. It was traveling at the average speed of 17,885 mph. Mir entered earths atmosphere on Friday march 23, 2001 at 9 a.m. Moscow time..
