Kolb Eagle Flyer
Message from Principal Lee
Dear Parents and Kolb Families,
I hope you had a wonderful Spring Break with your students. In just a couple of weeks, our school will begin State testing for 3rd-5th grade students. Please see the tips for testing we have for your family below.
Over the last few weeks, we have had some exciting news to share from our students. We had a team of 4th grade students, Audrija G., Aarav G., and Shivan P., who won 1st place at Destination Imagination, and went on to receive the Renaissance Award at the State Tournament in Clovis on April 6. The team will continue on to represent California in the Global Finals in Kansas City, Missouri. What a great achievement for the amazing team work by our students:
We also had some students participate in the Math League. Avyay R., Timothy L., and Dhruva V. came in 3rd place amongst 5th graders, and 10th place among all schools. There were many participants with outstanding scores, so our team did not qualify for State competition, but we are now listed high among other prestigious schools as well.
Finally, at the Science Olympiad held in Fremont, our team of 8 students won 2 awards: 6th place in Science Jeopardy and 2nd place in Starry Starry Night. Another amazing achievement for our kids and families. Thank you so much for all your support for making this possible.
This month, we continue the spotlight on science with our Science Fair which was held in the MPR on April 9. Below, I am sharing some very creative experiments with an excellent demonstration of what students learned. Our students do well when families and parents are heavily involved. I hope that you will join me in congratulating our students who went above and beyond at the various math/science competitions, and help us to continue this as a tradition by supporting and volunteering for our many school events.
Sincerely, Clara Lee
