Message from Mrs. Thompson

Dear Bobcat Families,

Thank you for everything you all did this week to show our teacher's and staff appreciation! We appreciate all of the support that we have received.

As many of you all have heard, we are in the process or an emergency rezoning. Due to the over crowdedness at Bush, we are having to rezone a region in Foster's Ridge. Yesterday our administration contacted each family by telephone. If you did not receive a telephone call, you are not being impacted. Consideration to relocate Fosters Ridge to another campus was considered in a 2019 zoning committee discussion as a possibility. After analysis, it was decided to allow this area to continue to attend Bush for as long as we could accommodate students. The district's hope was to allow students to continue attending Bush for as long as possible, but unfortunately numbers are now almost two years ahead of what was projected.

District is currently working on a video for parents and FAQ's to clarify information regarding rezoning and transportation. I have shared the frequent questions that parents are asking for them to help us clarify. This information will be shared early next week.

As much as I hate to lose any Bobcat, I am so glad that they will be getting the opportunity to attend another Woodlands High feeder school. I am grateful that our students will be reunited in Junior High. Deretchin is an amazing school and our Bobcats will receive an excellent education there. We are currently coordinating a field trip for our students to visit the campus on May 23rd to help with the transition. If you have any questions, you are always welcome to give me a call or send me an email.

Thank you for all of your support! We love our Bobcat Families!

Have a great weekend!
