Medal of Honor

Our Medal of Honor for May is Working Hard. During these last few weeks of school it is more important than ever to continue to work hard in all areas of school. Our Heroes are working hard on doing the right thing, (even when on one is looking), trying their best on all academic subjects, and being respectful citizens at school. We have seen so much growth in your children this school year, so we want to end the year in a positive way! Here are some points you can reinforce with your child at home:

  • Working hard in school helps build confidence and self esteem
  • Hard work pays off over time-each day we can improve in our ability and skills.
  • Working hard builds positive habits.
  • Doing well in school maximizes our options later in life.
  • Working hard can help us find our passion.
  • When we work hard we can make a positive difference in the world.

MY CHILD FORGOT HIS/HER LUNCH, WHAT HAPPENS?

If your child forgets his/her lunch, bring the lunch to the office with the child's name and teacher's name clearly marked on it. The lunches will be taken out by our noon duties to the lunch tables. Students will not be called during class to notify them that they have a lunch being held.

Damaged iPads

If your child has an iPad with a broken or cracked screen, please have your child bring it to school and take it to Ms. Tarry in the library. The screens are made of glass and can cause injury to their fingers if they are damaged.

Crossing safely

Dear RHES Parents and Guardians,

During drop off and pick up, PLEASE only use the designated crosswalks when crossing the road or parking lot. Cars cannot always see you and your child when you cross where there is no crosswalk. There have been many close calls lately, and we want everyone to be safe. Likewise, even if you are with your child and feel that you can make it across without being hit, there will be times that your child may be crossing somewhere alone and feel a false sense of security outside of a crosswalk. Thank you for your understanding!!

Eating at School

This year, all students are able to eat at school, free of charge. Our school has breakfast and lunch available. Breakfast is available either at 8:35 am or at morning recess. A student may only eat ONE breakfast/snack and ONE lunch each day. Some students are eating breakfast before school, and then trying to eat breakfast again at recess. Please help them to understand that they can eat breakfast either before school or at recess, not both times, and then eat lunch later.
