Dear Pirate Families:
I believe each of us were hopefully optimistic for a COVID free start to the school year. However, we live in different reality and must be prepared to face challenges that lie ahead. This week we saw an increase in the number of students being quarantined as close contacts to positive cases. Please trust me when I say, every one is tired or frustrated by the disruptions of COVID to our daily lives. But, we must remain diligent, hard working, and positive while continuing to educate each and every student.
We've attached an infographic to this email describing the quarantine processes as outlined by the Cooper County Health Department. In addition, now that the FDA has approved the Pfizer vaccination, we will host an on site clinic in conjunction with the Cooper County Health Department. We want to be mindful of the freedom of families and staff to choose what's right for them, while also providing opportunities for others to receive local health care services. All of the information for the vaccination clinics are below.
If you student is identified as a close contact and required to quarantine, it is imperative for them to log in to Google classroom daily. Students who log in to Google classroom, Zoom with their class, or complete their homework daily will be counted as present for attendance. If you are experiencing any difficulties while your student is away from school, please contact us! We are hear to help your student and family navigate the uncertainties this situation brings.
In addition, BHS students took part in an anonymous survey today entitled "Student Supports." We hope this survey will give us better feedback and data about ways we can best support the social-emotional and mental health of our students. Unfortunately, the pandemic has greatly impacted our young people. It's our duty to be responsive to their needs. If you child is experiencing a concern, please do not hesitate to reach out to their school counselor or our office. We are hear to help!
Sincerely,
Ms. Fuemmeler
