Attendance Matters
At Grapevine Elementary, we are striving to achieve a 98% attendance rate this year! Over the past two years our annual attendance rate has been 97.1% and 97.3%. Attendance is one measure that the state uses when comparing our campus to other similar campuses for distinction designations and we have fallen short by two-tenths of a percent the last two years from scoring in the top quartile of our comparative group. If we can meet our goal of 98%, it will not only ensure our students are maximizing their instructional time, but can also help us earn more distinction designations in the future! We will begin tracking our daily attendance rate on a calendar outside the front office. Please help us achieve our goal by getting your students to school on time each day and minimizing unexcused absences. We appreciate your support!
Because daily attendance is so important to us, the campus is recognizing all of our stars who had Zero Tardies for the 1st nine weeks! Each student will receive a certificate from Texas Roadhouse good for a free kids meal. We will continue to recognize these students each nine weeks with another certificate! We hope everyone will have the opportunity to be recognized and together we can decrease our amount of tardies on a daily basis to help ensure students are maximizing their instructional time each day! Mrs. Hale has also put out a challenge to each class to see if we can have a whole class recognized for Zero Tardies! They will earn a popsicle party and extra recess if everyone can get to school on time for the whole nine weeks!
