A Message from the PTO and Athletic Booster Club
Parents, Grandparents, Alumni and North Star Supporters,
The 2020-2021 school year has created unprecedented challenges for all students at St. Charles North. It has hit our Senior class of 2021 the hardest by depriving them of the social events that they have worked the last 3 years to earn. As this year is coming to a close the Staff, students and PTO are doing their best to plan some special activities to honor our Seniors. WE NEED YOUR HELP to support these events and make them special. We plan to purchase gifts that will be given away as part of these events. All seniors will be entered into a drawing for these gifts. We are asking for your financial support to make these purchases possible. Please do what you can to make this special for the SCN Class of 2021.

World Laughter Day - May 2
Every year, on the first Sunday in May, World Laughter Day raises awareness of laughter and the many healing benefits it provides. Another goal of the day is to manifest World Peace and build a global consciousness through laughter.
In 1998, Dr. Madan Kataria, a family doctor in India, founded World Laughter Day based on the theory that facial expressions affect emotions. In 2005, World Laughter Day arrived in the United States, and it was first celebrated in Los Angeles.
Why celebrate laughter? Great question! It releases endorphins that are natural painkillers, reduces stress by lowering stress hormones, helps build relationships by bringing you closer to others, and helps us make new friends. It improves heart health and lowers blood pressure, reducing the risk of a heart attack. Laughter is the best medicine - even psychologists and medical doctors say there is truth to this statement.
So, let’s get busy ab]nd celebrate World Laughter Day with those around us!! Share a joke, watch funny movies or TV shows, go to a comedy club, and spread a little laughter and joy every day. Click on this link to learn more about this special day: World Laughter Day.
Let The North LRC Help You Find Your Funny Bone On World Laughter Day!
Our Humor library collection at North is ready and able to bring you lots of laughter through books such as The Field Guide to the North American Teenager. “A hilarious novel about a witty Black French Canadian teen who moves to Austin, Texas, and experiences the joys, clichés, and awkward humiliations of the American high school experience — including falling in love.” - Amazon Books
