Parent and Student Sign-In and Sign-Out
White's Tower Elementary takes the security of our school and the protection of your child very seriously. In light of recent acts of school violence nationwide, we have implemented several measures to increase our school's security.
The US Department of Education's guidelines for school security recommends limiting school access points and implementing a visitor control system. In response, we have implemented a routine visitor control and tracking system. As part of our security plan, any adult entering the building will need to give their name and the purpose of the visit prior to being buzzed in. Once entering the building, a drivers license or passport will be required to visit outside of the office or signing out a student.
Attendance Matters
Our district is particularly committed to making sure that each student attends school regularly and on-time. Statewide, approximately 17% of our student body is chronically absent, meaning they miss 10% or more of the academic year. In Kentucky your student’s pathway to graduation, being in school regularly for instruction is a vital part of his/her success. Research shows that missing school for any reason (even excused absences, early dismissals, tardies, suspensions, etc.) can put a child at risk of falling behind as early as kindergarten. We are asking for your support in ensuring that your child arrives each day on time ready to learn. At White's Tower, we are commited to creating a welcoming and engaging school environment to support your student’s academic growth.
