Kindergarten News
March 23-27
Hopefully, you all had a chance to get your learning packets from the school. The skills we were going to cover for this week are included. We normally introduce a skill and practice it through learning centers before we assess it. You may need to help them. At this time, the school is not collecting any papers/homework.
Please continue to read with your child. Read to them. Let them read to you. Have them read anything even if it's just trying to read the cereal box.
Many kindergarten skills can be applied to everyday life. Let them help you with math while you are cooking. Look at the calendar each day. Count the days until birthdays, holidays, etc. Talk about science/weather while outdoors. Read things around the house. Sing the alphabet, count to 100 as a family. You are all great parents, I'm sure you do this kind of stuff already without even thinking about it.
The teachers are in the process of setting up a car parade. More details to follow.
Later this week I plan on setting up a Zoom meeting. The link at the bottom of the newsletter explains how to join. I will let you know a day and time and then send you the link to join the video. It's like a video conference call and we can all see and talk to each other!
If you have questions or need anything, you can reach me through the Remind app, e-mail, text or call.
