Housekeeping and Little Reminders!

Our Rules!

  • Respect yourself, your classmates, and your teacher. Treat others the way you want to be treated. #classynotsassy
  • If you want time to do activities you enjoy liked reading or using the computers, stay focused and complete all your classwork. #earnedit
  • Keep all gaming devices and cell phones turned off and put away. If it beeps, buzzes, or using electricity, it doesn’t belong in this classroom. #deadzone
  • Do your own work. This means not sharing information with others and making sure everything you do for me is your own original masterpiece. Don’t gamble with your grades by cheating! #thanksforplaying

Hi, Everybody!

Hi! I am so excited to meet all of you as we begin our year together! While we have a lot of work to do, I hope we will have a lot of fun getting to know each other and learning! My goal is to help you head into seventh grade feeling as prepared as possible. This is our classroom and I know we can make it as comfortable and productive as possible if we all work together!

Key Things We Will Be Doing!

Class Discussion is Encouraged!

We encourage healthy discussion in our classroom. Disagreements are allowed, as long as they are civil, well-spoken, and well-formulated. When the speaker is speaking, all eyes are on them. I will moderate and decide if we need to discuss ideas in another way.

How Will I Be Graded?

Participation is 20% of your grade! This means discussing in class, completing daily work, and coming to class on time and ready to learn. We will have quizzes and essays that make up 40% of your grade. Tests are a whopping 25% of your grades so make sure to study and prepare for each of them. The final 15% of your grade will be two big group projects we will work on through the semester.
