Did you know that the Ohio Department of Education has updated their graduation information page to make the information more streamlined for easier navigate. December Retesting - Students who haven't met the testing requirements will be retested between December 12 - December 20th. Remediation opportunities are being provided during a corresponding course, before school, and during study hall. The computer lab is available every morning at 7:15am for those that need extra help preparing.

TRIO Talent Search is an educational program serving students who are enrolled in grades 6-12 and who attend or live in the target areas of Marion City, Elgin, Ridgedale, Mt. Gilead, Cardington-Lincoln, Upper Sandusky, and Kenton City school districts. Talent Search (TS)is an organization based out of Marion Technical College: www.mtc.edu/trio-talent

Program services include but are not limited to:

| Structural Engineering The Structural Engineering classes are learning about concrete. They have studied the various applications, characteristics, tools, steps to pouring, and how to select and measure ingredients for specific slump and uses. They are making pumpkins and mushrooms for their concrete projects. | |

FFA Greenhand Degree Recipients. 33 Greenhand FFA members officially earned their Greenhand FFA Degrees, which were presented at the Annual Fall Banquet on Tuesday, October 18. They were also presented with their very own Official FFA Jacket. We would like to thank the Cardington VoAg Farm Association for sponsoring these jackets every year. Members Gary Fiant, Randy Grimm, and Nate Mosher were present to present the jackets on stage. | Cardington FFA are the Morrow County Forestry Champions! FFA members competed in the County Forestry Judging Invitational, coming out on top over Mt. Gilead and Highland FFA teams. Dana Congrove was the Champion Individual in the county and Ashton Plowman was the third overall individual in the county. Students were tasked with timber cruising, navigating and orienteering course, determining board feet usability of trees, tool and leaf identification, and a general knowledge test. | Cardington FFA sweep the Morrow County Job Interview CDE at Mount Gilead! 11 FFA Members competed in the County Job Interview CDE on Wednesday, October 19 against individuals from Mt. Gilead and Highland High School. Cardington swept all four divisions of the competition! We would like to congratulate Sage Whetnall, Alexis Peters, Sophia Goers, and Miranda Kintz for winning each division and qualifying for the Sub-District Competition in November. Students were tasked with completing a resume and cover letter, filling out an application, writing follow up correspondence, and conducting an in person interview with an industry professional. |

Athletic Campaign
- Football lost a heartbreaker in the Battle of 42, but they have definitely found some positives to build on going into the offseason.
- Volleyball beat West Jefferson 3-0 in their first tournament game and will play Bishop Ready Thursday at 7:30 pm in the Mount Vernon Nazarene University. The Pirates could move onto the district championship with a win Thursday.
- The Cross Country teams competed in the district tournament at Hillard Darby this weekend. On the girls side Loey and Magi Hallabrin both posted season best times on their way to qualifying for the regional meet at Pickerington North High School on Saturday. On the boys side Aidan Reitmire set a personal best time for the season and will join Loey and Magi at regionals this weekend.

- AP Exam Slips are due by Friday, November 4, 2022, with payment (50% or full).
- Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is open for those of you looking for post-secondary options. Most institutions/colleges/universities require this to be filed before awarding any financial aid. Each has its own deadlines in order to qualify for scholarships and other financial aid opportunities, with many being first come, first served. Don't delay!
- Continue to check your Google classroom for updates and opportunities including external scholarships.

Communication is important for a successful school year. Please make sure to update your contact information through the PowerSchool Parent Portal if there have been changes. Contact the high school office if you are having trouble with your account. Fees may hinder your ability to access PowerSchool.
- Did you know that parents can get access to each of their students' Google Classrooms? Please contact each teacher for this important information.
- Parents can also gain access to each high school class cohort's Google Classroom for important information targeted for each grade level. Parents and students need to check this regularly so they can stay informed.
