Snowshoeing Fun
We have had a terrific time snowshoeing after school! The pictures above are from the 2nd & 3rd grade session and the pictures below are the 4th & 5th grade students. We had over 50 kindergarten and 1st grade students sign up for snowshoeing next week so we are going to have to split into two groups. 1st grade students will still have the class after school on Tuesday, January 20. However, kindergarten students will now have snowshoeing on Thursday, January 22nd. I apologize for the change in plans but this will allow for a better experience for all of the students. (Let Mrs. Abi know if the new date does not work for your family.)
The activity will take place 3:20-4:45 on the west playground and in Washington Park.

Illness Reminders
If your child is running a fever, they should stay home from school for at least 24 hours after they no longer have a fever or signs of a fever, without the use of fever-reducing medicine. Local medical providers are also advising that if your child has tested positive for influenza, they are not to return to school for seven days. If your child has been given antibiotics by a doctor, they should not return to school until the medication has been in their system a full 24 hours.
HEALTHY HABITS to STAY WELL and PREVENT SPREADING GERMS
Wash your hands often with soap and water especially after coughing, sneezing or blowing your nose. Alcohol‐based hand cleaners are also effective.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth to help prevent the spread of viruses.
Don’t share food, utensils, beverages or anything that might be contaminated with germs.
Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
Stay home when sick, especially with flu‐like symptoms of fever and cough. Stay home for at least 24 hours after being fever free without the use of fever reducing medicine.
Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash and wash your hands.
Cough and sneeze into your sleeve or elbow instead of your hands if you don’t have a tissue.
Clean surfaces that may be contaminated with germs using household disinfectant cleaners.
