Wauwatosa Montessori School
September 10, 2021
Each day our classrooms hold a community meeting for 15-20 minutes to work on skills that are important and apply to everything we do! This week all of our classrooms spent their daily Classroom Community Meeting time learning about the brain and how it works so students are aware of all the amazing things our brains can do and how each part of our brain helps us with different things. Classrooms read Your Fantastic Elastic Brain by JoAnn Deak Ph.D. and the the rest of the week was focused specifically on the Cerebrum, and how having a growth mindset helps set us up to learn and grow our brain. A visual that recaps much of what was learned and practiced with Growth Mindset this week is in your child's folder to help support using this same language at home.
As we settle into the school routines, we have many various events and opportunities that will start taking place. Please be sure to read through the newsletter in it's entiriety to see these opportunities. A few to highlight this week:

- Pull forward to the furthest available cone/number. We are hoping that the numbers will be repainted on the new parking lot soon!
- For arrival your child will get out and proceed to their entry door.
- For dismissal students will be called via radio to come out and directed to your car. Please DO NOT get out of your car while in the carline. This creates an unsafe situation and impedes the progress of the carline moving.
- If your child needs assistance getting in/out of car, please walk up to lobby doors to pick up.
