WANT TO RUN FOR STUCO?

There will be two different meetings for students that are interested in running for a position in Student Council. The meetings will be held on Wednesday, March 8th at 7:30 am and 3 pm in Room 1506. Students only need to attend one of these meetings. If students have any other questions, please see Mrs. Neibling in Room 1506.

As an added note, Student Council has decided to remove the position of At-Large Student Council and is instead moving to event and topic-specific committees. This will allow more students to be involved in Student Council activities and also be involved with things they are most interested in.

From the health office:

We have completed hearing and vision screenings on all new to district students as well as all sophomores, per our state mandates. If there were any concerns with the screening we conducted you would have received a letter in the mail from our office.

Has your child visited the dentist recently, or do they have an upcoming appointment? If so please have your dentist fill out the following sheet and return it to our office so we can update our records! Thank you for sharing your students with us! We hope everyone has a wonderful spring break.

Your AHS nursing staff:

Nurse Jen, Nurse Barb, and Kassie

SAVE THE DATE - DADDY DAUGHTER DANCE

Friday, April 14th from 6:30-8:30 pm, FBLA will be hosting a daddy-daughter dance. All money will be raised to take the FBLA kids to nationals. Ages 3-12 are welcome to attend. More information will be provided soon.

COURAGE

This month we are focused on helping students understand that courage is not a magical remedy for fear. Instead, courage is a choice to push through fear, self-doubt, and anxiety to do things that feel hard or frightening. We are partnering with you this month to grow your child’s courage. This month’s activities will help your child understand that courage can equip them to make a positive impact at home, at school, and in the community.

Engage: Courage Role Play Discuss having the courage to do the right thing. As a family, role-play situations with your child where they might have to demonstrate courage. For example, role-play what it would look like if they saw a friend being rude to someone else at school. What would they do? How can courage help them stand up for what is right?
